Fundraiser Goal Setting
Fundraising is an important part of your church activities. Regardless of the religion, most are aware that donations from the people of the church is inadequate to the operation of the church. Fundraising enables ministry to spread it's work and word beyond the curch walls.
Understanding the critical function of the fudrasing program is the first step toward it's success. A committee should be developed to undertake the massive responsibility of fundraising. It's not that all monies will be raised in one event, but to have one group oversee, generate interest, and coordinate smaller groups, you will attain a higher level of success instead of having no one overseeing all fundraisers.
Now you can begin your fundraising efforts.
First determine the primary purpose of each fundraiser. A food shelf drive is different from raising funds for building a new wing of the church. However, the guidelines are the same. You need a goal, a way to achieve the goal, and a celebration of attaining the goal.
Put the goal in writing. Once you've committed to raising money for the youth group to travel out of state. You need to write that down! It will help motivate your group to have a stong goal with mission and outcome!
Next, how much money do you need? If the goal is to raise $500 per person and ten are going, that's $5,000! It's going to be hard to raise that in one event, so think about two or three events. A receipe book would be a teriffic idea, but would a bake sale featuring goods from the recipie book be better? How about selling raffle tickets at the bake sale? Add-ons really increase the success of your event. Visit my website Fundraiserbuzz.com for more ideas.
Celebrate your success. Never let the fundraiser pass without recognizing the volunteers involved. Celebrate, evaluate and then move on to the next fundraiser.
Following these simple guidelines will increase the success of your fundraisers and make it possible for the people of your church to accomplish their good work! Good luck!
